BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — Teeya Wilson, 12, was struck by a vehicle while crossing the Florida Boulevard on July 16.

The incident happened at around 9:40 p.m.

Investigators found that Wilson was walking across the busy road when she stepping into the path of a truck traveling westbound.

Wilson was hit by the vehicle and died at the scene.

Roland Paige, 45, who was driving the truck, was not injured.

It has been determined that alcohol did not play a part in the accident; however, it is still under investigation.
