
BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — Two people were killed in a crash that happened during the early morning on I-10 East near the Mississippi River Bridge.
The Baton Rouge Police Department reports that the incident happened at around 2:00 a.m. Alex Dillman, 29, of Morganza and Dargus Rochon, 33, of New Iberia, both died as a result of the crash.
Officials say Dillman was driving a Jeep Cherokee in the West bound lane when he struck a Freightliner head on in the left lane. The Jeep continued forward and struck a Dodge Dually being driven by Rochon. His vehicle was pulling an enclosed trailer.
A fourth vehicle was also struck and sustained minor damage. The driver was not injured.
The driver of the Freightliner was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries. Dillman died at the scene and Rochon died shortly thereafter at a local hospital.
The crash is still under investigation.
