FLOWER MOUND, TX (CNN) — Many little girls dream of being a princess, a four-year-old in Texas, fighting leukemia got to be one for a day.
All dressed up in their Sunday best, this group in flower mound had fairy tale flare.
Tutus and gowns all fit for a princess, whose short life hasn't been all that magical.
But that changed Sunday, as friends and family watched 4-year-old Rebecca Ferrell receive a police escort, to a princess tea party, just for her.
There’s a lot to celebrate.
"I can't remember how many medications she took each day, and now she's on none, which is a very unique experience," Shawn Ferrell, Rebecca’s father said.
After two years battling leukemia, Rebecca’s father says she's the healthiest she's been.
But during those worry-some days the family knew they wanted some joy for their daughter.
So they got in touch with Make-A-Wish of north Texas.
"From the very start it was Disney. There was no doubt about that she wanted Disney,” said wish granter Manu Shanhi; who planned the regal party, upgraded Rebecca’s ball gown, and made her big dream come true.
"It's very special to both of us that Rebecca finished her treatment so we're going to grant her wish, her wish is to go to Disney World," Shanhi told a crowd at the party.
The whole family leaves Tuesday.
"Two weeks of uphill battle and suddenly we get this vacation where we can kind of do whatever we want! Still hasn't kicked in," Shawn explained.
Maybe not for dad, but Rebecca is ready to finally enjoy a little magic.
