Unrestrained and impaired driver killed in DeSoto Parish crash
DESOTO PARISH, LA — Alcohol use is suspected in the crash that killed a Grand Cane man.
On September 11 at 10:55 p.m., State Troopers responded to a single-vehicle fatal crash on Louisiana Highway 175 south of Louisiana Highway 3015.
A truck driven by John Washington, 27, was traveling north on Louisiana Highway 175 when it entered a curve to the left, drove off the right side of the road into a ditch and began to rotate counterclockwise. The vehicle then struck a downed rotted tree and began to roll.
Washington was not properly restrained and was ejected from the GMC. Washington suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the DeSoto Parish Coroner’s Office.
Alcohol use is suspected. A toxicology sample was taken and submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
