Update:EBRSO detectives no longer looking for cross dressing truck thief
EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH SHERIFF'S OFFICE — UPDATE: EBRSO Detectives made contact with the person of interest picture in the release sent out yesterday. As of now, the person of interest is not a suspect. The investigation is ongoing, but detectives are no longer looking for the person of interest described below. Updates will be provided as they become available.
ORIGINAL: East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Detectives responded to a call of a stolen vehicle yesterday evening at a restaurant located at 18811 Highland Road. The vehicle, a 2011 white Ford F-250, was stolen sometime between 7:49 and 9:40 p.m. The vehicle was locked, but the keys were hidden inside the vehicle. It appears the suspect(s) manipulated the keypad on the exterior of the door to gain entry into the vehicle.
Deputies located the vehicle at approximately 11:30 p.m. parked in a lot on Barringer Court. A purse with wallet containing credit cards and a handgun, which was also hidden in the vehicle, were missing.
A person was seen attempting to use a debit card taken from the vehicle at 4:44 a.m. at the Circle K located at 4959 Evangeline. The store employee described the person as a man wearing women’s clothing. He also stated there was blood on the clothing. In the video the person appears to be wearing a bluish color dress with long hair. The person was also seen in what appeared to be a red or maroon Honda 2-door Sports Coupe.
