BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) - A big blow for the Baton Rouge Airport. The newest carrier - Vision Airlines - will stop service next month.
Sources tell FOX44 News sales from Baton Rouge have been falling steadily over the past few weeks.
Vision Airlines made the call to stop service at nearly half of the airports it's served since it announced it was expanding earlier this year.
Vision has been offering service to Destin / Fort Walton Beach and Las Vegas from Baton Rouge since April..
We're told flights will stop sometime in mid July.
Hate to see it. Flew Vision to Destin/FWB, and except for being 45 mins. late in departing, it was wonderful. They even gave us free snacks, which the other airlines charge for. Going to LV tomorrow with my 80-year-old Dad. He was the one who asked to go, because of the non-stop flight. We wish Vision well! BR needs a low-cost airline to jump-start competitive fares! ---MDNOTMD
