Voodoo fans: Know where to park to avoid a negative experience

The following is a list of parking regulations for visitors of the Voodoo Music Experience, as issued by the New Orleans Police Department.

Event organizers have arranged for the following accommodations for parking:

Parking is available for $10 per day at Delgado Community College in the parking lot at the corner of City Park Avenue and Marconi Drive. The lots will be open starting at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, and 9:00 a.m. on Sunday. Proceeds from parking will support Delgado student organizations.
Parking is available inside City Park at designated areas for $20 per day at restricted locations, as directed by City Park officials. Attendees should be mindful that much of the park will be closed to vehicular traffic between Wisner Boulevard, City Park Avenue, Marconi Drive and Zachary Taylor Drive, adjacent to the I-610. Parking in City Park opens at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Parking is available along Marconi Drive and City Park Avenue as well, and in the surrounding neighborhoods.
Parking is NOT allowed on the neutral ground on Marconi Drive, nor is it allowed on the grounds that border Bayou St. John.The City will post extra signage along the bayou warning against parking on the perimeter of the waterway. If citizens choose to park on the street, pay close to attention to “No Parking” signs as the City will ticket and tow vehicles. Parking enforcement personnel will be monitoring for illegal parking, including blocking hydrants, driveways and sidewalks, or parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk, intersection or stop signs. Motorists are also reminded to park in the direction of travel on one-way streets, and with the right wheel to the curb on two-way streets.
