Welsh man ejected from car during crash, dies on scene
JEFFERSON DAVIS PARISH, LA — A man died after being invovled in a two-vehicle crash in Jefferson Davis Parish.
On July 8 at around 6:05 a.m., troopers were called to investigate a fatal crash on I-10 east of Louisiana Highway 99.
A car being driven by Daven Henderson, 19, of Welsh, was traveling east on I-10 when he drove though the median and entered the westbound lanes, where his car began to overturn.
While overturning, Henderson's car struck the hood of a 2010 Toyota Corolla, driven by Quinton Richard, 47, of Morse, that was traveling west on I-10.
Henderson was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected. Henderson suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on scene by the Jefferson Davis Parish Coroner’s office. Richard was properly restrained and did not report any injuries.
Alcohol use is not suspected on the part of Richard. Alcohol use on the part of Henderson is unknown. Toxicology samples were taken and submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
