Wreath at Capitol honors those in the military, veterans

Wednesday, December 12, 2012 - 12:00am

Wreaths Across America kicked off today at the Louisiana State Capitol.

A wreath now sits at the Capitol building symbolizing all those who served and are serving in the U.S. military. A moment of silence was observed and all those in attendance paid tribute to the nation's fallen soldiers.

"It will stay here at the State Capitol and be on display through the holidays,” Margaret Tyler, Daughters of the Revolution, explained. “It’s a wonderful event and quite an honor for us to be a part of it."

This is the fifth year the Wreaths Across America has honored veterans.
