No Decision Yet on Saturday's LSU-Troy Game

By Chris Mycoskie

LSU athletic director Joe Alleva says no decision has been made on whether or not Saturday's football game against Troy will be postponed. A decision should be made Wednesday morning.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Gustav, there is damage across Baton Rouge and power is out to most of the city, including the LSU campus. Plus, there is damage inside Tiger Stadium. Alleva says windows to luxury boxes and the press box were blown out, resulting in water damage, and seating areas were damaged by falling objects. Plus, there is some damage to the northside scoreboard.

The Tigers and Trojans share an open date of November 15th, so postponing the game to then may be a good option.

LSU began its season with a blowout win over Appalachian State, a game that was moved from 4 p.m. to 10 a.m. last Saturday, due to impending evacuations and contraflow as Gustav approached the gulf coast.

In addition to the football stadium, other LSU sports facilities have sustained damage. The fence surrounding the Tigers' football practice fields has been knocked down. The press box at the soccer complex has completely been knocked from its perch. Plus, there's extensive roof damage to the natatorium, new softball field locker room and old Alex Box Stadium. The outfield wall and scoreboard at the old baseball field also took heavy hits.
