Les Miles comments on Jalen Mills before practice begins
BATON ROUGE, LA — LSU head coach Les Miles sounded optimistic when talking about junior defensive back Jalen Mills’ legal situation Wednesday.
“I’m told everything is pretty positive,” he said after talking to the Baton Rouge Rotary Club. Listen to the video for the complete update from Miles.
Mills is facing a felony battery charge after an incident on May 4 at the Northgate Apartment Complex near LSU’s campus. Police say Mills punched a woman in the face.
Mills is currently suspended indefinitely from the LSU football team.
District Attorney Hillar Moore told NBC33 News last week that he is still waiting on investigators to interview more witnesses and that he doesn’t have a timetable set for when a decision will be made in the case.
Mills is a two year starter in the defensive backfield. He was expected to be the Tigers' starting safety this fall.
