LSU standout Michael Clayton writes book
BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — Former LSU wide receiver and NFL star Michael Clayton has released an autobiography.
According to Clayton’s representatives, the book is entitled Chasing My Rookie Year, and chronicles his success on and off the football field.
Clayton self-published the book and will be promoting it here in Baton Rouge. He is scheduled to speak at the Blue Cross Blue Shield's Martin Luther King Day celebration on January 16.
After playing three seasons at LSU as a wide receiver, Clayton was drafted 15th overall in the first round of the NFL draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was ranked 5th all-time as a rookie in NFL history.
Clayton played in Tampa for six years and then signed with the New York Giants in 2010. He was a member of the team when the Giants won Super Bowl XLVI in 2012.
Representatives for Clayton say he has been working as a sports broadcaster and a motivational speaker since his retirement.
He is currently pursuing a broadcasting position on the Southeastern Conference’s own television network
Clayton’s book is currently available on amazon.com, and an e-book version will reportedly be available in January.
