Tigers Arrive in New Orleans

By Chris Mycoskie

The trip from Baton Rouge to New Orleans only took about 90 minutes, but for the LSU football team, its the final portion of a season long journey to reach the Allstate BCS National Championship Game.

The Tigers arrived via bus at five o'clock Wednesday afternoon. They were met by members of the bowl committee and a loud group of fans, some wanting autographs, others just wanting to catch glimpses of their favorite players.

It's just a small sampling of the home cooking the Tigers will get in New Orleans. No doubt there will be a healthy portion of Buckeye supporters around town, but people clad in purple and gold will dominate the city over the next week -- and the stadium come Monday night.

Preparations resume Thursday morning -- but Wednesday night, the Tigers were just enjoying a fun night in the Big Easy.

Short of getting inside the Superdome, the only place to see the title game is on FOX. Coverage begins at six o'clock Monday night.
