LSU's Mettenberger named SEC Offensive Player of the Week

LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger earned Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Tigers to the highest point total against an SEC opponent in 16 years.

Mettenberger completed 25-of-29 passes for 340 yards and two touchdowns. The 25 completions were the most by an LSU quarterback since Rohan Davey had 31 in the 2002 Sugar Bowl.

No. 10 LSU scored a 59-26 victory over Mississippi State including a 31-3 advantage in the second half. The 59 points was the most by an LSU side since scoring 63 at Kentucky in 1997.
