Zurich Classic Capital One Bank Celebrity Shootout players announced

Recently signed New Orleans Saints cornerback Champ Bailey will make his public debut when sports and music stars will tee it up for their respective charities in the Capital One Bank Celebrity Shootout at 3 p.m. Tuesday, announced Steve Worthy, CEO of the Fore!Kids Foundation, producer of the tournament.

For a dramatic finish to the event, all the celebrities will join one lucky amateur to win $1,000,000 for a hole-in-one on the TPC Louisiana’s 9th hole that features water down one entire side guarding the green. The amateur will be chosen through a sweepstakes sponsored by WDSU TV, the New Orleans NBC affiliate.

So far, the confirmed celebrity contestants include:

Champ Bailey, All-Pro cornerback for Washington Redskins and Denver Broncos recently signed by the Saints
Darius Rucker, Grammy Award winning country music star and lead singer of Hootie and the Blowfish
Tommy Hodson, former LSU and NFL quarterback
Mark Ingram, Jr., Heisman Trophy winner and New Orleans Saints running back
Zach Strief, New Orleans Saints offensive lineman

Worthy said other celebrity players will be announced before the event starts.

The two-person teams will play for $30,000 for their respective charities. The format will be a modified alternate shot, which calls for each team member to hit off the tee then alternate from their best shot to complete the hole. They will play holes 1, 2, 8 and 9.

“This event has become a fan favorite on Tuesday,” said Worthy. “We pair the players so that all of the teams have a competitive opportunity to win a big prize for their designated charities,” he said.
