BATON ROUGE, La (FOX44) - Friday it looked like a homerun. Pat Murphy and his longtime assistant and Crowley native Alyson Habetz were introduced as the new duo on the softball diamond for the LSU Tigers.

The LSU softball program lost a legend to retirement this past season when Yvette Girouard called it quits. The challenge of replacing her was going to be as tough as an SEC schedule. But Pat Murphy seems like the perfect fit.
The SWAC Council of Presidents and Chancellors voted Thursday to adopt a league policy to prohibit any member institution subject to NCAA postseason bans to include SWAC championships and tournaments. The policy is effective immediately.
