TYLERTOWN, MISSISSIPPI (WGMB)--More than a hundred dogs are being rehabilitated at an animal sanctuary in Mississippi after they were rescued from a puppy mill in Robert, La.

State Police discovered the dogs back in May when their owner was killed in a one-car accident back in May.

Local shelters couldn't take the dogs in, so the St. Francis Animal Sanctuary stepped in.

Volunteers say they've been able to nurse the animals back to health and they are now ready to be adopted.

The adoption event will be Saturday, July 31st from 11AM-3PM at the grand reopening of the St. Francis thrift store in Mandeville, LA.

The thrift store is located at:
813 Florida Street
Mandeville, LA
