NEW ORLEANS, LA — A New Orleans woman was booked for allegedly robbing someone at gunpoint, then firing at the victim as she attempted to run away.
Cabrina Watson 21, was booked with Armed Robbery, 2 Counts of Aggravated Assault and Discharge of a Firearm During a Violent Crime that occurred June 26, 2012 at around 1:00 p.m. on the 1100 block of Dublin Street.
Officials say the victim was walking down Dublin Street when the suspect jumped from between parked cars armed with a silver revolver and demanded the victim's purse. The victim her purse and vehicle keys on the ground. The suspect asked her to pick them up and give them to her at which time she refused.
The victim then fled as the suspect fired a single gunshot at her. No one was injured in the gunfire.
The suspect took the victims car and fled. The suspect parked the victim's vehicle and was observed fleeing that area in a Jeep Liberty.
Second District Detectives identified Cabrina Watson as the suspect through a photograph line-up. With the assistance of the 6th District Task Force, Detectives located Watson at which time she was relocated back to the 2nd District station where she gave a taped statement admitting her involvement in the robbery.
Watson was then transported to Central Lock-up where she was booked with Armed Robbery, 2 Counts of Aggravated Assault and Discharge of a Firearm During a Violent Crime.
